Deles Experience of Teamwork

DELES Training for transformation is a Team-led process. In DELES training programme, team work and participation are two key concepts we value and strive to promote especially through our workshops. DELES always use a team of Facilitators in the training workshops. For a week-long workshop, this would number 2 - 4 Facilitators, depending on the number of participants in the group.

Team is a key part of how DELES work. We have come to appreciate the fact that clear dedication and role clarification are necessary conditions for self-sustained team-work and commitment.

There are many reasons for this;

  • Each individual facilitator enriches the process by bringing different skills, experience and approaches to the process, thus enriching it.

  • Different facilitators will match the various learning styles of the group participants.

  • By working as a team, and changing facilitator with each new exercise, the focus of the learning group will shifts from the facilitating team to their own learning process. As the workshop advances, the team in a sense, begins to fade into the background, and the group gets on with its own work. This process avoids the possibility of one or more facilitators becoming the group experts.

  • Group members complement each other in their skills and abilities by covering up and not allowing the weakness of co-facilitators to be exposed.

  • It reflects the differences of the diverse groups with which they work.

In DELES training workshops, Service Committees are created to unite the teams in concrete actions, help implementation of the plans and keep the activities of DELES alive.
